  This peace of work is especially dear. As a matter of fact I found this watch from a flea market, and the Holy Spirit gave me the idea about the use of the watch right there. The watch was missing for some months and a couple of days before the “In a Word” -exhibition’s opening I was in “pain”, because I couldn’t find the watch. Praying all the time I was looking for it from every possible place at home. For quite a few times I was thinking about sending a prayer request through a certain pastor couple and finally when I was just about desperate I did it. And 15 minutes after they had passed on my request I found the watch!

  After they had passed my mail on to the others, I “happened” to think about a certain huge plastic bag four floors below in the cellar of our house. A couple of months ago I picked up all the stuff from my kids’ room floor and took them downstairs because they wouldn’t clean the room in spite of many requests. So now I went to take the bag back upstairs and the first thing I took from there was my daughter’s little purse and guess what was inside… THE WATCH! Thank you God! He’s amazing, how He helps us in tiny matters like this when we have the courage and when we remember to ask.

The symbolism:

  There’s a picture of a lion in the outer and inner ”lid” of the watch and to me of course it reflects the Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ. The Bible constantly speaks about Jesus coming back during a time when many are having a REM-phase of their sleep. Then the other of two workers will be taken, the other will be left. It is vital that we are spiritually awake. In other words it’s important that we maintain our relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit vivid and healthy. And that we take care of it like any other important relationship. When the Lord returns one has to be ready, because the party will move straight on to the best part without any warm-up!

  The watch has been set to show 11.56 p.m. At the moment the Doomsday Clock is showing the time of 11.55 pm, but this watch has it one minute more. It’s because we really can’t tell when Jesus is coming, but it could be today! The doomsday clock gives shivers but when it’s in its full time, the world will face a total darkness but God’s people will have a new, bright dawn.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”

  The Bible is a very ambiguous collection of books. It always opens news sides about things that we thought we already knew and on the other hand it’s very simple. The phrase in question belongs to the latter group, the one that is clear and simple: the only way to God is to acknowledge Jesus and accept Him personally. People should also remember, that there is no heaven without God. So if you really want to “get to heaven” you can’t make it by visiting the church on Christmas or confirmation classes. You can make it only through what Jesus did at the cross.

  The symbolism in this work:

  the WAY: The fourth chapter of the Book of Revelation tells how God showed heaven to John. It must be unbelievably beautiful in there, and it is the end of our road!  :) The background is needle felted and there’s a way and the sun coming up in the end of it.

  the TRUTH: “doesn’t burn even in fire”. Bible is the word of God and the word of God is true. Also Jesus is called the Word of God. (John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”) This one has a felted “fire” background.

  the LIFE: Bible compares Jesus to a tree and us believers to its branches. There’s an apple tree in the background, the apples reflects the fruits of the Spirit. In front of the tree there’s a “vessel” that had come down from a tree and I found it outside, now it’s containing mustard seeds. The “Life” -part of this work also reflects the goal of our way, heaven, because that’s the place where our faith will finally be fulfilled and where we are given the treasure that is promised to us for all those moment that we have strongly believed in God’s mercy and that He really takes action.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

One of the most well-known verses in the Bible, yet so randomly carried out. Why is it, that even though us believers know that there’s only two options after we’re dead, yet it is SO hard for us to tell about the importance of making the choice.

The harsh reality is, that we have the tendency to jam God into a box. In a specific kind of a box, that happens to fit into our life at the time. We say that we believe the Word and that we try to live up to it the best we can. Yet we put into practice only that part of the Bible that suites our own choreography without being too annoying to our own living, without calling our flesh into question in front of the people.

Jesus said: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Go and make!

A Finnish stay-at-home-mom had an idea of picking up trash from the ground once a day; let’s put into action our way by “a testify per day” -idea. Everyone asks the meaning of life at some point. As the disciples of Jesus one of the greatest purposes of our life is to spread the information about His life and existence. You could start from your neighbor or from the grocery salesclerk, it’s not so terrible!

The wares that you’ll see here are a combination of handicrafts skill and proclaiming the gospel. I’ve made miniatures since 1998, but the evangelical touch came only at the turn of 2004-2005. God lays the subjects and Bible phrases to my heart, often along with the materials and the colors. This is the way how my “evangelic cans” are born, together with Father. I’m making new roomboxes “all the time” so every now and then I have something new to add to this site also; check back!

The purpose of this site is to wake YOU up. It might cause thinking about another possibility. It might change you. It also might change your life. So please do step in, if you dare!

The work is available for exhibitions (one small thing is appropriate to tell here: I live in Finland so we’re talking about visits around here unless You want to meet all the costs of course!   ). I also make visits e.g. to schools, kids’ and the elderly’s afternoon clubs, handicrafts and art clubs, art courses, etc. The wares have inspired both kids and old people. The emphasis of the visits is agreeable but bringing out the gospel comes with the package. This happens with great consideration of the age of the audience and their ability to receive these things. “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.”

It’s obvios what this work wants to say, it doesn’t have hidden meanings or symbolics, at least not intentionally. The Peace Inn is a former key box that my mother brought me…  

Jesus gave His life for us. He is a Blood Donor who gave everything. The Bible says, that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from our sins. It does it, because Jesus suffered only because of the sins of the others, He was without sin. He redeemed the access to Father’s throne room.

This roombox is the first new work for the coming “Man of Nazareth”-exhibition.

summer’s just about to come and my intention is to be ready with a new exhibition in fall 2007. I haven’t started to work for it just yet, but there are lots of ideas for new work in my mind. I just have to finish the ones that have been unfinished for too long ( ) and after that I’ll be able to concentrate to the future.

The visits of this spring have been really rewarding and contacts have been created. People have been very interested in what I do and they’ve come to ask more about it and examine the work from a closer distance. Well, they actually have to, in order to find out why I’m talking e.g. about a washingpowder box… The visibility of the work has been a slight problem in larger spaces so people just have had to come closer afterwards!

This problem is about to get some relief, as in the future I will have a Power Point presentation with me that supports the visibility. So in places where there’s the possibility to use a video projector, we can enlarge the work to a screne and this makes the understanding both of the work and the Message easier.

It has been surprising and joyful to see how well the “cans” have been welcomed during the visitations and exhibitions already now. If you use the Finnish Bible version 1933/38, the verse 10 of SS:5 begins with the words “My beloved is white and red”. (I mean the straight translation from that version into English. )  The Bible verses above have formed into very intimate and special meaning with my relationship with Jesus. I love these verses. This roombox is an expression of how I feel about Him. Also these two colors are strongly present in my everyday life: white and red.

This roombox is made into a lantern. The curtains have a good 3200 trebles and about 107 340 stitches…

1.Cor.3:6-7

As you can see from the Bible phrase this roombox tells about the mastery of God. He is the utmost source from which everything comes. This work doesn’t have the symbolism in the lead role as in some of the stuff I make. This is just a simple, glad praise of the Father.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

I remember how sometime before I got religion I had to (in my own opinion) to listen to the cliché “Jesus loves you!” aaall the time. But guess what: nothing in this world is more true than that!

He made EVERYTHING and much, much more what it says there in the book of Isaiah. He was all free to call a legion of angels to help if He had wanted to. He could’ve just snapped His fingers and make it all stop. But He wanted to give His life for you. Jesus payed for you with His own life. He payed for the enemy who had mislead the humankind. HE PAYED FOR YOU. He gave back your right to the citizenship of God’s Kingdom and the right to be God’s child. You don’t owe anything because your debt has been signed. The only thing that can ever cancel this check written for an unlimited amount is that you wouldn’t want to receive it.

Symbolism:

Everyone knows the funny game where you pluck the petals of a daisy and count “he loves me, he loves me not…” The daisy in this work represents the love that Jesus felt for you when He accepted and received the lashes, mockery, spitting, hatred, ridicule, all the expressions of cruelty that was possible to make to a crusified criminol at that world time. That is why each of the petals says “LOVES”, it was all that Jesus thought of you when He died. The stem of the daisy is a nail that of course represents the nails with which Jesus was crusified.
